Production vs Consumption
Production vs consumption. It's easy to consume, just tune in. To produce, I am subject to scrutiny and value from without and within. I have been working on differentiation between what is projected onto the world - myself - and what is actually occurring in the moment. If I think I am doing something, it is entirely different than being. It is a line between deception and truth.
Yesterday, I became an advanced student in Aikido and was awarded a hakama - the wide black trousers. It is a symbol of beginning to learn. I can say that I have an understanding of the creative spirit of Aikido.
Workers have the power of production. This is what they have to negotiate for their betterment in the world. When an elected official attempts to take away the ownership that workers have over their labor, he has tipped the balance of power to consumers. Workers become enslaved to consumption.
I have been thinking about production lately. I've noticed my consumption patterns outweigh my creative production capacities. I have internalized a system. I secretly pursue creative processes and have not landed on satisfaction with my media. I have thought that my production capacities lie outside of my capabilities in tools. I have gathered powerful tools and methods and now I will produce. Will you join me in production?
This is my first blog entry of Situationalist Media. I will provide you with my thoughts and observations as projections of my productive processes. I offer them to share and not abuse.
